It is unfortunate that so many people seem unaware or uncaring as to the plight of those who, through no fault of the their own, become afflicted by disease in America. People in these situations can lose everything and end up both bankrupt and unwell enough to even recover from bankruptcy all because of the power of insurers to look after only the healthy ones (as long as they stay healthy). How can it be acceptable to consider the US a first world country when such practice is condoned?
