Debbie — glad to help. And, if I do say so myself, my panel rocked. My job was to step aside and let them do their thing. And they were all awesome. I’m all about basking in the glory of my smarter friends! There might be video. And if you want the raw data (understanding that I am not in any way an expert in polling, surveying, or associated fields!), dm me. There’s a lot of commentary from readers that I found fascinating.

Next year, we will have our respective acts together. Or I’ll just twist Kat’s arm…she gets stuff done.

@ Kassia — Thanks for the numbers clarification. I heard a lot of great things about that panel. I’m going to print out the presentation. Is there a video of it? I couldn’t find it. And re meeting in person — I wish I’d organized myself better and made that happen. Please keep me posted about when you’re coming back to NYC so we can get together in the real world!

Just a quick note to further correct the numbers. Our readers generally purchased 2 – 5 ebooks *and* print books per month (combined 4 – 10), with somewhere in the 20% range purchasing more. Reading rates were a bit higher on a monthly basis. So many numbers, and we were focused on ebooks in our discussion. Another interesting note: readers price shop for ebooks. I didn’t see that one coming, though, yeah, it makes sense!

I’m a bit jealous that Kat got to meet you! We must have been ships and all that during the conference.

Kat – Excellent idea regarding kid friendly e-readers!

What a great cover for Time magazine – A mother and young daughter sitting side by side reading with their Kindle (or whatever eReader).

I think “junior” eReaders is a concept EVERYONE can agree on!
